Humans can do many different things and need not be limited to just one form of contribution — see: “role” — in the context of cooperative labor. At the same time, different people have different “skill points” in different areas, and expertise in particular areas can allow organizations to move forward in service to their goals much more quickly and effectively. It is for these reasons that we use the term “Guide” for those who may currently be more advanced than others in certain areas, can hold down key responsibilities in these areas while guiding others interested in carrying similar tasks, and who might want to take on other tasks in the future.
