The Assembly

From Quorum Assembly3 min read

What Quorum Assembly is, how it is organized, and where 400M picks up what it inspires.

01Ephemeral, prototype

Quorum.dev is an ephemeral prototype research lab focusing on federated social networking and agentic engineering.

Ephemeral: no official organization or legal binding beyond respect and cooperation around the research, while leaving room for spontaneous projects, open-source or commercial, to manifest organically.

Prototype: behavior reuse through a process of cloning existing patterns. A project created from Quorum inherits its governance the way a JavaScript object inherits from its prototype: autonomous.

02What it does

The organizational structure is a blueprint for Quorum projects, with three main circles:

+DesignInterfaces, identity, and the screens people will actually use.
+DevQ (tentative name), the core Go framework; Autonaut, an agent harness with a web UI; and Git Eco, a local-first, git-backed cooperative development system.
+SupportHosting, documentation, and keeping quorum.dev itself running as a live instance of a Quorum app.

Members jam on open source projects together: the Quorum app (communication, cooperation, and liberation), Quorum Tunnel with end-to-end encryption, and the framework and tools beneath them.

03Beyond Quorum

Quorum.dev is purposely an ephemeral, prototype org, and therefore can only inspire projects that actually support real users and handle money: community hosting, technical support, software consulting, and app sales.

The specific apps the Assembly has discussed, Buds, Spex, and Garden, are all part of 400M, made and run by D+D.
