Diagram · The four circles of membership
400M: ProductionsThe co-op as a whole. Every dot is a person.
Creative-MembersMake the creative work and share in the decisions and surplus of their projects.
Aspiring Worker-MembersIn transition toward the core: fully involved in the labor, building trust over at least three months.
Worker-MembersThe core: the heaviest and widest scope of responsibilities, and the structural decisions.
We currently have four different circles of members that make up 400M Productions. These circles are:
Supporter
These are volunteers knowingly and willingly giving their labor to support the broader mission of the co-op, without seeking direct remuneration.
Somewhat reliable, and exploring the possibility of deeper commitment in the future.
Creative-Member
Individuals who want to participate in the creative work but do not wish to participate in the structural governance and business responsibilities.
Share in the responsibilities, decision-making, and surplus generated on projects that they are a part of.
More details on what this entails can be found here.
Aspiring Worker-Member
These are members who seek to become Worker-Members, but who are either in their trial period for this circle, or have limited bandwidth / ability to commit.
Some Aspiring Worker-Members fulfill the Worker-Member circle requirements, but have the option to postpone their change of circle.
These are members fully involved in the labor of 400M Productions, and interested in becoming Worker-Members at some point in the future.
Aspiring Worker-Members must be consistently active in this status for at least three months before they can be considered Worker-Members (following a deliberation period and vote).
More details on what this entails can be found here.
Worker-Member
These are the members carrying the heaviest and widest scope of responsibilities within the co-op. They have fulfilled all membership requirements, are deeply aligned with the collective values and vision of the co-op, and are willing to take on certain risks and responsibilities in serving its operations/aims at the structural/governance level.
